Call of Duty Vanguard On PS5 Has Haptic Feedback And 3D Audio

Call of Duty Vanguard will luckily feature haptic feedback and 3D audio on PlayStation 5 to bring players closer to the action.

Haptic feedback was one of the primary selling points of the PlayStation 5 when it launched back in November last year. Yet surprisingly, it is a feature that not many titles outside of PlayStation exclusives utilise. However, last year’s Call of Duty Cold War had one of the best implementations of the feature.

Call of Duty Vanguard has announced a lot of features that will be arriving with its launch on November 5th. But among them is the return of haptic feedback along with 3D audio.

Rumbling Shots

The PS5’s haptic feedback had a mixed reception when it launched with Cold War. I found the feature incredible immersive, as it allowed you to feel the weight and power of your guns. It also delivered some incredibly explosive rumbles as nearby grenades went off.

However, when switching over to its multiplayer, a lot of player decided to turn haptics off. With their trigger resistance, players could be delayed from making shots. And while we are talking milliseconds, in Call of Duty’s traditionally fast-paced multiplayer, this could result in failure.

3D audio on the other hand is a feature I doubt anyone can complain about. Audio has steadily become integral to multiplayer experience. Thudding footsteps and distant gunfire can give you the drop on enemies. It is especially important in Warzone, which will be recieving a new WW2 map with Vanguard.

From the reveal trailer, we can see that Call of Duty Vanguard is pushing the boundaries in graphics. And its inclusion of haptics and 3D audio show that Sledgehammer Games are keen to deliver a truly next-gen experience.

Call of Duty Vanguard is set to release on November 5th. It will launch across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
