Turning off your iPad does depend on the model, so do ensure that you follow the instructions for your type of iPad. Otherwise, it might just not work.

Home Button iPads – How To Turn Off iPad

If your iPad has a Home button, the process is really simple. You just need to press and hold the top button, until a Power Off slider appears. Once this slider is on your screen, you need to slide the slider and wait for your iPad to turn off.

Face and Touch ID iPads

If your iPad has no Home button and instead has Face ID or Touch ID on the top button, you will need to do something slightly different. You will need to press and hold the top button as well as the volume button, then drag the Power Off slider, until your iPad turns off.

Without Using Buttons

Buttons can sometimes be tricky, so if you are struggling with the buttons, no matter what model you have, you can do the following:

Step 1: Navigate to Settings on your device
Step 2: Select General then Shut Down
Step 3: The Power Off slider should appear at this point, which you can drag across to power off your device.

Once your device is off, you can turn it back on by holding the top button until the Apple Logo appears, on any iPad. It’s that easy to turn off and on your device.
