A brand new Star Wars has entered development, and it’s being helmed by the person who created the Uncharted series – Amy Hennig.
Skydance Media has announced that it is working on a brand new game set in the Star Wars universe. We know very little about the new project, other than that it will be a narrative focused title. That probably means that it will be single player.

Amy Henig is best known for her work on the original Uncharted series. She eventually left Naughty Dog to develop a Star Wars game at EA’s Visceral studio. However, that studio was promptly shut down shortly after the failure of Battlefield Hardline. Henig has now found a new home at Skydance Media and is confident about the new project.
“I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly,” she says in a blog post on the official Star Wars website. ““I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.”

It will certainly be a while before we see what the team at Skydance Media comes up with, but we can’t wait to see it. Regardless, it’s a great time to be a fan of Star Wars games. We currently know that Respawn is working on a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order. In addition, Ubisoft Massive is working on a Star Wars game in the Snowdrop engine. Quantic Dream is also working on a narrative based game set in the New Republic era.
