Matt Reeves’ The Batman Secures Nearly 3 Hour Runtime

The runtime for the new Batman movie, simply titled ‘The Batman’, from Matt Reeves has been locked in, and you might want to go easy on the drinks.

We’re used to seeing films get longer and longer these days, especially superhero movies. Avengers: Endgame ran at a gargantuan three hours and two minutes. The upcoming Doctor Strange movie is also expected to be a long one. The new Batman reboot movie is the latest film to get a length assigned to it, and it’s clocking in at two hours and 55 minutes.

The nearly three hour length makes this new movie the longest Batman movie ever. Well, if you don’t count the Snyder Cut of The Justice League – which we aren’t. The next Batman movie that comes closest would be The Dark Knight Rises from Christopher Nolan. That film had a runtime of two hours and 45 minutes.

Clearly, The Batman has a lot of story and action to pack in. With Robert Pattinson taking on the role of Bruce Wayne, we’re excited to see his take on the caped crusader. Paul Dano is playing The Riddler, the main villain this time around. He’s joined by Colin Farrell who undergoes plenty of prosthetics to look like Penguin in the trailers.

It’s not long left until The Batman hits theatres on March 4th. While we’re extremely excited, we’re a tad disappointed to see the film slapped with a PG-13 rating.
