AirPods go hand in hand with iPhones and other popular Apple products, so all of them. The first generation of AirPods launched in December 2016, with the second generation not launching until three years later in March 2019. The current third generation dropped in October 2021, with the first appearance of AirPods Pro launching the year previous in October 2019.
For those who prefer over-head personal audio, AirPods Max launched in December 2020 and is currently the most expensive AirPods offering at an eye-watering £549, although they can be found cheaper at times.

How To Reset AirPods
We’re going to cover every AirPod model in this how-to guide, so don’t worry about feeling left out. Simply follow the steps below to learn how to reset your AirPods as soon as possible to cure those syncing issues and other errors.
How To Reset AirPods and AirPods Pro
- Put the AirPods in the charging case, close the lid, wait 30 seconds then re-open the lid.
- On your Apple device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and tap the More Info icon next to the AirPods on the device list. Tap ‘Forget Device’ and confirm.
- For Non-Apple devices, go to Settings > Bluetooth > Connected Devices or similar to find currently connected devices. Tap the settings cog next to the device name and select ‘Forget’ or ‘Disconnect’.
- Next, hold the setup button down at the back of the AirPods charging case for around 15 seconds until the case flashes amber than white.

How To Reset AirPods Max
- After making sure AirPods Max has been charged for ten minutes, press and hold the “Noise Control” and “Digital Crown” buttons for 15 seconds.
- Wait for the status light at the bottom of AirPods Max to flash amber than white.
- Users can also reset AirPods Max to factory settings by selecting the option under their iCloud account.
