Final Episode Of Arthur Airs Showing The Characters All Grown Up

After 25 years, hundreds of episodes, and raising countless generations upon it, Arthur has finally aired its final episode.

As a kid, I used to watch Arthur all the time. To find out that it was not only still going, but about to end, took me by surprise. Of course, all good things have to come to end, and this is no different.

Where are they now?

The final episode of Arthur flashes forward into the future, showing what the characters eventually grew up to be. Arthur grows up to be a graphic novelist, flaunting some extremely questionable facial hair. DW – the eternal tattletale – decided to become a cop, thus fulfilling ACAB to a tee. Busty is a schoolteacher, Francine is the manager of a sneaker company, Muffy is running for mayor and has quite the new hairdo, Binky is a weatherman and George manages the Sugar Bowl.

Years in the making, the show ended with a bang and finally gave us a hard look into the future of these character, all while remaining incredibly bittersweet. Generations of children grew up on this show, and now they’ve seen the ending they can finally rest.

There aren’t many shows that can manage a 25-year long run time, especially shows targeted at children. What’s especially impressive is that the studio managed to maintain the same visual art style throughout it all, only adding to its charm.
