Fans Are Just Spotting This Classic Video Game Easter Egg In The Book Of Boba Fett

Retro video game fans have spotted a subtle easter egg in the final episode of The Book of Boba Fett, making us all feel incredibly old.

If you didn’t spot it, Majordomo is carrying a Coleco Bowlatronic when addressing the Pyke clan in the final episode. For those who don’t know, the Coleco Bowlatronic was released in 1981. It was an electronic tabletop game that let you play bowling on a handheld system. It’s a fun nod to an older age, and it’s especially cool to see old out-of-use pieces of technology used as props in modern productions. Although, I must admit – it’s rather terrifying to think about what technology will be used in productions in forty years time. It’ll likely be technology from the early 2000’s!

The Book Of Boba Fett featured a massive array of cameos, including The Mandalorian and Luke Skywalker. There was also a small appearance by the one and only Max Rebo. However, it was recently noticed that the finale of the show has a deep-cut reference to the history and past of video games.

Star Wars tends to use technology that, while futuristic, also seems somewhat old. It’s a similar mentality to Alien, making everything look like a product of when it was first made. It helps to ensure that the world stays consistent. Visibly, everything looks like it belongs – and the Coleco Bowlatronic being used on The Book Of Boba Fett just perfectly meshes with the Star Wars world.
