EA Shares A New Look At Battlefield Portal

EA has given us a new look at Battlefield Portal, one of the three core gameplay experiences in Battlefield 2042.

A new video was posted online, showing examples of classic maps in Battlefield 2042’s style. Battlefield Portal “lets you replay the reimagined classics, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3“. Also, players can “deploy on these timeless maps with the modern arsenal and content of Battlefield 2042”.

EA showed us various classic Battlefield maps available in Portal. These include “Battle of the Bulge”, “Caspian Border”, “Arica Harbor” and more. The full list of maps is available in the “Battlefield Briefing” post, which also details every option in Portal.

Portal Options

Portal allows player to “jump right into those modes from inside the game”. Players can also “use these experiences as starting points that you can edit to create something more personal”. We’ll be able to edit weapon loadouts, tag in more maps or tweak settings like health regen and bullet velocity.

The briefing goes into much more detail about the different kinds of maps and experiences players can edit and play in Portal. Overall, there seems to be a huge variety of customisable options to suit whatever gameplay players prefer.

However, if all the options are a bit overwhelming, EA says it will offer a way to quickmatch into featured experiences. These game modes will be updated regularly and available for all Battlefield 2042 players.
