DOOM Creator Adds New Level To Raise Money For Ukraine

The creator of DOOM, John Remero, has added a new level to DOOM II to raise money for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

Last week, Russia invaded Ukraine, staring a war still going on now. In an effort to support Ukraine, Romero has released the new level on his website romero.com. People can download the DOOM II level and play it for $5.00.

Romero tweeted a message saying “To support the people of Ukraine and the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross and the UN Central Emergency Response Fund, I’m releasing a new DOOM II level for a donation of €5. 100% of the proceeds go toward these agencies.”

One Humanity

The new DOOM II level is called One Humanity. The description reads “One Humanity is a new level for the 1994 id Software release DOOM® II created by John Romero to support the people of Ukraine and the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross and the UN Central Emergency Response Fund. 100% of the proceeds go toward this support.”

One Humanity is Romero’s first DOOM II level since the release of the original in 1994. Players need an original copy of DOOM II and a modern source port to play the new level.

If you’re a fan of classic DOOM and want to support Ukraine, definitely head over to the site and have a look.
