Classic Star Wars Prequel Character To Return In Obi-Wan Kenobi Show

A rather interesting prequel character will reportedly be returning in the upcoming Disney + TV series, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

According to Making Star Wars, Jimmy Smits will be returning as Senator Bail Organa. They claim that their sources have spotted Smits filming material with Ewan McGregor, despite the fact he’s been left off the cast list.

If true, this would be Smits first appearance as Senator Bail Organa since 2016’s Rogue One. As the adopted father of Leia, one can only assume an appearance of his in the series would involve updating Obi-Wan Kenobi on her wellbeing and discussing how they’re going to continue hiding the two siblings from their tyrannical father, Darth Vader.

What does this mean for Kenobi?

Disney + recently revealed a poster for the series and a May 25th premiere date, the forty-fifth anniversary of the original release of A New Hope. As of yet, we have no footage of the series beyond a sizzle reel discussing it in brief, but we can’t be that far off seeing our first look at the series.

What we do know is that Obi-Wan Kenobi will be a six episode miniseries centring around the character ten years after Revenge Of The Sith. Hayden Christensen will be returning as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse are playing Owen and Beru Lars respectively.

The series has been in production for several years. Kenobi will be the third Disney+ original Star Wars series, after The Mandalorian and The Book Of Boba Fett.
