Bungie is donating profits from sales of its Pride Pins to the Trans Lifeline charity this month.
Bungie is selling the Pride Pins on its US store. From now until the end of November, they’ll be donating any profit they make. The news was announced in an in-game message in Destiny 2.
The message said “During November, Bungie is standing with the transgender and gender-nonconforming community to raise awareness and work to end anti-trans violence.”
“All profits of the Bungie Store’s Pride pin will benefit Trans Lifeline to provide support.“
Trans Lifeline
It’s great to see a company like Bungie doing its part to help marginalised communities, and hopefully others will follow suit. Previously, Bungie has sold pins for International Women’s Day, the Black Lives Matter movement and disability awareness.
Unlike those pins the Pride Pin is separate to the emblem for your guardian. The pin can be purchased for $15 on the US Bungie store.
Trans Lifeline is a support helpline for trans people in the US and Canada. They offer different kinds of support to those in need, including emotional and financial aid.
Personally, I was quite surprised to be greeted with the announcement when I logged onto Destiny 2 recently. It’s great that Bungie are committed to supporting trans people and other groups.
