Ubisoft announced that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is moving to January recently, and now we’ve got a solid date for the game’s release.
The new release date has been confirmed as January 20th. Previously, the game was expected to drop in September before it was pushed back.
Additionally, Ubisoft is also dropping the price of the game. The base game will now cost $40, and the deluxe edition will cost $50. Previously, the games were expected to be sold at full price, but now people will be able to get them at a lower price.
Co-Op Play
Furthermore, Ubisoft is introducing “Buddy Pass” tokens which will allow people to play with their friends. Two tokens are included with every copy, and these can be gifted to other people for free. Those players will gain a 14-day trial period for the game, so you can test it out with your friends if they’re not sure about the game.
The game has cross-play and cross-progression, and the tokens will be usable on any platform. This means players can play across Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and PC.
Rainbow Six Extraction was renamed after the pandemic hit – previously, it was known as Rainbow Six Quarantine. It’s hoping to evolve the Rainbow Six franchise with a new take on co-op shooters. Whether it’ll work is anyone’s guess, but we only have to wait until January 20th to find out.
