The Call of Duty Vanguard beta is on its way, and series’ fans are going to want to prepare as there are a ton of options afoot.
Many players will be raring to get their hands on the new Call of Duty. With a return to a World War 2 setting on an updated Modern Warfare engine, Vanguard is set to improve what we got in Cold War. With the launch just a couple of months away, players have the chance to check out its multiplayer segment in the beta. But things get a little confusing.
If you were a fan of Modern Warfare, Vanguard will likely be up your street after looking at the explosive multiplayer reveal last night. So if you’re just like us, the you’ll want to get yourself ready. Here’s everything you need to know about the Call of Duty Vanguard beta.
WHEN DOES THE BETA GO LIVE?
The Vanguard beta will spread across two weekends and seven days in total. But not all of those dates are open to everyone.
Much like with the Vanguard alpha, PlayStation will get first dibs on the beta. Launching on September 10th, PlayStation players who preordered will get early access. The PlayStation early access beta will launch at 6 PM BST on the 10th and will run till the same time on the 13th. PlayStation players can preload the beta now.
The following Thursday (16th) will launch both the PlayStation open beta, and the Xbox and PC early access beta. Xbox and PC will players will have to preorder the game to get access. This stage of the beta will run until the next day on Friday the 17th, and will start and end at the same 6 PM time as the previous week.
Then on Saturday the 18th the open beta will launch for all platforms, and end on the 20th.
WHAT KIND OF CONTENT DOES IT BRING?
The Call of Duty Vanguard beta will bring a whole host of content across its time. Champion Hill will make its return, giving players outside of PlayStation the chance to try out the new evolution of gunfight. The returning mode will now feature a new weapon set.
On top of Champion Hill, the beta will bring a host of recognisable modes across three maps. Players will be able to try out Team Deathmatch, Domination and Kill Confirmed across the beta. They can also try out the new mode called Patrol, which is basically a constantly moving version of hardpoint. These modes will be playable across maps titled Hotel Royal, Red Star, and Gavutu.
Players will be able to level themselves up to level 20. If they reach that rank during the beta, they will recieve the Rat-A-Tat weapons blueprint for both the base game and its Warzone update later this year. The beta will also include an FOV slider for consoles, which has been confirmed for multiplayer but not for Warzone.
