The main versions of Forspoken and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will cost players $70 on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
$70, or £65, is an increase over the standard $60 price tag we’ve been used to seeing. But both those games, two of Square Enix’s biggest upcoming titles, are being sold at that price point. This matches the PS5 and Xbox Series X’s pricing, which saw an increase to $70 last year.
This news makes Square Enix the first publisher to bring $70 pricing to PC. The digital deluxe versions will cost even more, being sold for £90/$95.
Is $70 A Good Price for PC Games?
The price of new games has been a hot topic in the gaming industry for a while. Ever since games first rose to the current standard price, people have questioned whether they’re worth it.

Playstation boss Jim Ryan says we should compare video games to other forms of entertainment which offer less hours for your money. Meanwhile, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said “the customer will decide what the right price is for them”.
Comparing video games to other forms of entertainment will always make video games appear more valuable. For example, the majority of movies offer a much shorter experience the first time around, while some games stretch into 50+ hours before you’ve seen everything.
However, it’s up to the player whether a game can maintain high quality throughout those long play-times.
