Rockstar Games Is Getting Ready for Its PS5 Debut Game

Rockstar Games have already started prepping their release IP for the next generation of consoles. We know this by job listings that Rockstar have put out. They have put out three listings so far, one for their Indian office, one for their New York office and finally one for their Toronto office.

The first listing from Rockstar India who are on the look out for technical artists who will need to:

Create next-generation worlds for some exciting upcoming projects!

And the Rockstar New York office is looking for a MoCap Tools Developer. This comes along with the Toronto studio looking for a Senior Technical Artist. It looks like Rockstar are looking to continue their incredible animations that we have seen in Red Dead Redemption 2 into future games with these two additions.

These roles are to:

create and build upon the next generation of MoCap tools and pipeline.

You may be thinking – How does this apply to the PS5? Well in each of these job descriptions Rockstar uses the phrase ‘next generation’. This means that people will not only need to know about how to create games for right now but into the near(ish) future.

Sadly there is no clue as to what game the Rockstar team is working on for the release of the PS5 but if I was a betting man I would put money on a new GTA game or maybe even Bully 2.

There is also no word as to when the PS5 and the next iteration of the Xbox will be coming to stores. Although there have been whispers of late 2020 or 2021. This gives us a good few years yet to wait to find out what the next Rockstar game will be. I hope it is a good one that will hold my attention as long as Red Dead Redemption 2 has and continues to have.
