Rick and Morty has arrived in Fortnite with Chapter 2 – Season 7.
Fortnite is no stranger to wonderful crossovers with external franchises, and the fan-favourite Adult Swim cartoon is the next property to appear in Epic’s Battle Royale.
Epic first teased the appearance yesterday when a short clip of the Butter Robot appeared on Twitter.
The robot first appeared in Season 1 Episode 9 of Rick and Morty, “Something Ricked This Way Comes”. The infamous “you pass butter” line has since become a legendary meme.
It didn’t take long for the crossover to be officially confirmed with the full Season trailer dropping today. A full 3D model of Rick is found towards the end of the trailer, complete with a classic belch from the character. Unfortunately, Morty is nowhere to be found quite yet.
It has to be said, Rick’s model does look rather… strange. It’s probably the combination of the 2D art style mapped onto a 3D model, but the motion is trippy to wrap your head around.
What else is new in Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 7?
Season 7 looks to be another huge update for the Battle Royale. Focusing on an alien invasion, it brings a whole host of new weapons and gadgets to the table.
One weapon riffs off of the gravity gun from Half-Life. There’s another that looks just like a Ray-gun, and another that operates as an extremely powerful Railgun.
This isn’t the first time that Rick and Morty have appeared in a video game recently. They also showed up in Rainbow Six Siege not too long ago.
Part of the Battle Pass trailer seems to show an alternate skin for Rick that looks similar to his toxic appearance from Season 3. It’s possible that we could see several different skins for Rick’s character in Fortnite.
