Resident Evil 2, 3 And 7 Are Coming To Next Gen In 2022

Capcom has announced that three modern Resident Evil games are making their way to next gen consoles this year.

Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 have all been given the next generation treatment and are making their way to PS5 and Xbox Series X this year. While the games have been playable on these platforms until now, they haven’t taken advantage of the more powerful hardware. That’s all set to change – each game will now include ray tracing, higher frame rates, and 3D audio enhancements.

For players on the PlayStation 5, they’ll also enjoy enhanced DualSense features. Resident Evil Village had some excellent trigger functionality, so I’m looking forward to experiencing that with these older titles.

When Will Resident Evil Next Gen Release?

To sweeten the deal, all players who already own these Resident Evil games on PS4 and Xbox One can upgrade at no extra charge. That’ll be excellent news for people who have already experienced these excellent stories on last gen.

Resident Evil is in an excellent place right now. Resident Evil Village was received extremely well by critics early last year. A new movie that combines the first two games has also recently hit theatres. Sadly, it doesn’t seem to be too popular with fans of the games.

There’s no word yet on when we’ll see these remastered versions of Resident Evil hit next gen consoles. However, we can expect it to be this year. Will you be giving it a try on your shiny new hardware? Let us know across our social channels.
