The streaming industry is a tough one, and even though Netflix is clearly killing it for its viewers, it has to remain fresh and exciting to avoid being bested by the likes of Amazon Prime and other similar services.
It’s a fiercely competitive market, with the likes of Amazon Prime, Now TV and Hulu all boasting their own set of benefits.
To keep themselves at the top, it’s unsurprising that Netflix is always looking to add new and innovative features to the service.
The latest addition that Netflix seems to be giving a run out, is an instant replay feature.
Some viewers have reported the appearance of a ‘see that scene again’ option that pops up after notable moments in a film or show.
Just saw the first kissing scene in the movie Dumplin. Netflix then flashes a menu, “Watch That Scene Again.” I love that their algorithms work for good, evil, and neutral. “Teens rewind this scene a bunch. It’s been getting a mixed response online, with some users warming to the idea whilst others are finding the whole thing pretty intrusive. People are even claiming it’s ruining the immersive experience of watching their favourite shows and movies.
Hey @netflix instant replay sucks, I dont want your crap jarring me out of my movie, might as well add a commercial. Leave that shit for sports channels. Or at least give us an opt out if you go live with this junk.

It’s not all negative feedback though, some viewers are welcoming the feature after their own lapses in concentration…

“Watch that scene again” – Netflix…Netflix you got me…when I first saw that I was like who would click that. Then I thought about the scene and was like “I will” then clicked and watched it again.

“We’re trying out a feature which gives Netflix members the ability to rewatch favorite scenes and memorable moments with the click of a button,” a Netflix spokesperson told the Los Angeles Times. “Right now we’re just looking to learn from it and may or may not roll it out more broadly in the future.”
