Show off your moves at the movies, with Knockout City’s second season which is out now on all platforms.
Knockout City is a dodgeball game that allows you to become the dodgeball, so it’s safe to say the game doesn’t take itself too seriously. However, its latest season proves that developer Velan Studios knows this, with a movie-themed season that seems to hit the mark.
Revealed at EA Play Live last week, Knockout City’s new season “Fight at the Movies”, will launch on August 27, 2021. The latest season will bring new playlists, gear, and rewards, but that’s not all. Season two will also feature a new map with an ever-changing movie-themed arenas.
The new Holowood Drive-in map will change in real-time, bringing a real dynamic sense to matches. Not that they aren’t dynamic already. Did I mention you could BECOME the dodgeball?
Arenas range from the spooky “Cathedral of Horror” to the romantic “Bridge of Love”. You can get a sneak peek of the arena-changing mayhem in store in season two’s trailer.
Dodge, Dip, Duck, Dive and Dodge
On top of unfamliar and changing maps, players will have a new threat to look out for. The Soda Ball is the newest dodgeball type to join the Knockout City’s current roster. This carbonated monster will release a sticky soda explosion to restrict your opponent’s movement, priming them for a dodgeball to the face.
And for those able to master the Soda Ball and are looking for a little more competition, season two brings along a new season of League Play. League Play will feature some of its own tiered content outside of that available through the main game.
If you are keen to try out Knockout City, you can play the game up to level 25 for free. For those after a more long-term solution, it’s also included in an EA Play subscription, which just so happens to also be included in Game Pass.
Knockout City’s second season “Fight at the Movies” will launch on August 27, and will be available across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC. Don’t worry if your friends are on different platforms, because Knockout City also includes cross-play and cross-progression.
