The rotating event in Halo Infinite, Fracture: Tenrai, will be changed in the future to replace challenges, according to 343 Industries.
In a recent stream 343 confirmed that the upcoming Tenrai event will replace challenge swaps and XP boosts with proper cosmetics. These cosmetics will be items that would have previously only been available in the store.

343 also acknowledged that mistakes were made on the marketing side of things, and that the event needed improvements. Head of Design Jerry Hook apologised on stream for the way the event was done, and later explained the new direction for the event pass.
“Our goal is always that when you see something that is earnable in a season”, he said. “You can’t earn that gear in the shop, it’s dedicated to your events.”
What Will Be In The Event Now?
Data-miners have taken a look into Halo Infinite’s files and found that the event pass has already been changed after the latest update. The event won’t be around until January to confirm it, but so far most data-mined passes/cosmetics have been accurate.
It seems like the Kabuto helmet, shown at the end of Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer reveal trailer, will be available for free now. Previously, it seemed like this and many other items would be tied to the shop.
Furthermore, additional armour pieces will be unlockable, such as new shoulder pads or chest pieces. More event challenges will be available so players can get a bit further along the pass than before.
