God Of War TV Series Could Be Coming Soon To Amazon Prime

A God of War TV series could be in the works soon at Amazon, according to a report by Deadline.

PlayStation’s iconic action-adventure franchise is “heading to television”, with Prime Video in talks to produce a live-action series based on the video game series.

The report states the series adaptation will come from The Expanse creators Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. Also involved is Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins, as well as Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions.

God of War TV Series

After the commercial success of the new Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland, Sony will no doubt be looking to expand its other franchises into other media. The Last of Us TV series is still on the way too, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.

Other games being adapted to TV include Halo on Paramount+, and a Fallout series on Amazon Prime starring Walton Goggins. There’s also a Mass Effect adaptation in the works.

But God of War is the latest in a long line of game adaptations, and it definitely makes sense. The 2018 game was very cinematic, and the epic scale of the series could look amazing in live action. We’ll have to wait and see if Amazon can put a good adaptation together though – video games aren’t exactly known for having the best adaptations.
