Dr DisRespect is suing Twitch as the streamer reveals he now knows the reasoning for his ban, and has known for months.
The former two-time blockbuster champion previously signed a multi-year deal with Twitch. However, the streamer was permanently banned from the platform in Summer 2020. The shocking ban was became the topic of speculation as no-one knew its reasoning.
However, in a recent stream, Herchel “Guy” Beahm, revealed that he has known the reason for his permanent ban for months. And it looks like things are going to get heated between DisRespect and Twitch.
Dr DisRespect is Suing Twitch
DisRespect briefly described the situation, stating that the entire ordeal had been a “rollercoaster of emotions“. Beahm continued to keep the reasoning for his ban under wraps. However, he inferred that he and his brand had been struggling since departing Twitch.
He then revealed that he would be suing Twitch over the ban, stating: “There is a reason why we’re suing the f**k out of them, ok? I don’t know how else to put it. The amount of damages, and you just don’t… nah.“
This is the first indication DisRespect has made that he would be fighting back against the ban. However, digging into the “damages” a bit, Beahm and his brand likely did suffer many association partnerships crumbling in light of the ban’s mystery. This statements from DisRespect come after his influencer-led games studio began hiring.
DisRespect now streams over on YouTube but suggested that his channels had struggled in comparison to Twitch. With Twitch’s ease of access and use interaction, DisRespect stated that “everything is up” on the platform.”
The reasoning for the ban is clearly at the heart of the lawsuit, so we likely won’t hear of it until it has concluded. However, Beahm stated that after finding out the reasoning nearly a full year after his ban, he and his team were “all in“.
